Recent event have made us aware of the fact that we are living in a different, more violent world and that violence is hitting closer and closer to home. The list of troubles is long and it keeps getting longer. Credit card fraud on the internet, carjacking, hooligans, lack of police officers, violent adolescents forming gangs, gang rapes, religious fundamentalists who, by terrorist attacks, are trying to create chaos and fear in those who does not confess to the same God as they do, a strong increase in crime coming from the East and companies who are finding it difficult to maintain their corporate secrets in this digital era. The list can go on and on.

Our society has, in many ways, become unsafe and the everyday violence is much more brutal than before. Being naïve and not facing reality can cost you dearly, life and health can not be measured with money. To think that the violence will not affect you is stupid and the consequences can be catastrophic. It is not a question about if it will happen anymore, but when.

Abuse cases alone have increased over 800 percent in the last 50 years! The bitter truth is that that society and its police force can no longer guarantee the safety of the citizens! It is up to each and everyone to be prepared when violence threatens oneself, ones family or co-workers.
